About Roberta

I'm a designer, though some people insist on calling me an artist, and honestly, I've stopped correcting them.

A little confession before we start: yes, I could have picked a polished, picture-perfect portrait for this page. I didn't. I chose a photo that's really me: a little eccentric, a little unpredictable, definitely outside the lines. Apparently that's how people describe me (their words, not mine, but I'm not arguing), and it's the same restless, unconventional energy I pour into everything I make.

I left my job to go back to university for a master's degree, and when it was over, I found myself working at a boutique here in London. That's where phone straps came into my life. I'd never even owned one, but I watched people fall in love with them, one after another. So, almost as a joke, I ordered a handful of beads online and put together my first few pieces. One design happened to catch my manager's eye, and she asked me to make some for the shop.

From there, things took on a life of their own. I'd watch people pick up something I'd made, comment on it, fall for it and buy it, with no idea that I was the one who had designed it and put it together with my own hands. Every time, I felt this strange mix of disbelief and flattery, like I'd stumbled into something I hadn't quite meant to start. A bracelet followed. Then a necklace, a keychain, and eventually everything you see here today.

I've always believed that real beauty hides in the small things. That's why every piece carries two quiet signatures in stainless steel: a tiny heart and an evil eye, tucked in among the rest. My colours are never still: they shift, they tangle together, they change with time, and I think that says something true about who I am. But two words have never moved: LOVE and PEACE. Because really, how beautiful would it be if we all simply loved and supported one another? That's the world I believe in, and it's what I try to pass on every day to my two children, who have been the heart and the inspiration behind everything I make.

I work across all kinds of materials, always chasing something I haven't tried yet. Every piece is made and finished entirely by hand, by me. Production time depends on the design: behind each one are hours spent researching materials, chasing an idea taking shape in my head, and hunting down exactly the right pieces to bring it to life.
